1. Scope. These terms govern the rental of vehicles without driver by Polo - Aluguer de Automóveis, Lda. (tax number 501788913), with registered offices at Rossio Grande, Lote B, Loja C, 8500 Alvor, Portimão, Portugal. Contacts: +351 964 017 703, sara@polorentacar.com. Booking on this site implies acceptance of these terms.

2. Booking and confirmation. A booking is confirmed when the confirmation email is sent, after a successful online payment or the choice to pay at pick-up. The price shown on the site is final and includes basic insurance, unlimited mileage and one additional driver.

3. Payment. Payment can be made at pick-up or by card, online, at the time of booking. If a discount for online payment is in force, it applies only to the rental amount and not to rate supplements, extras or fees. All prices include VAT.

4. Driver requirements. We rent to drivers aged 21 to 90, holding a driving licence valid for at least 2 years on the day of pick-up. Drivers under 23 pay the young driver fee shown at booking.

5. Documents at pick-up. All drivers must present a valid driving licence, an ID document (identity card or passport) and the card required by the chosen rate, in the name of the main driver.

6. Fuel. The vehicle is delivered with a fuel level and must be returned with the same level. Missing fuel is charged at return.

7. Excess and cover. Each rate has the excess and cover shown at booking and on the conditions page. Damage excluded by the chosen rate is the responsibility of the customer.

8. Pick-up and return. Locations, dates and times are those stated in the booking. Changes must be arranged with Polo in advance.

9. Cancellation and no-show. You can cancel or change the booking at no cost until 3 days before the rental starts, by email or WhatsApp. For bookings paid online, the amount paid is refunded. Under article 17(1)(l) of Portuguese Decree-Law 24/2014 of 14 February, car rental for a specific date is not subject to the 14-day right of withdrawal that applies to distance contracts; the cancellation terms described in this clause apply instead and are more favourable to the customer.

10. Fines and tolls. Tolls and any fines during the rental period are the responsibility of the driver. The car carries a Via Verde device that is always active, valid on motorways and in car parks; using it incurs a handling fee of €2.00 per day (maximum €20.00 per rental) plus the tolls and parking used, normally charged up to one month after the rental ends, except in exceptional situations. Processing of fines carries an administrative fee of €25.00.

11. Accidents and breakdowns. In case of accident, breakdown or damage, contact Polo immediately. 24/7 roadside assistance is included in all rates.

12. Personal data. The data collected is used exclusively to manage the booking and the rental contract, under the Privacy Policy.

13. Dispute resolution. In case of dispute, consumers may file a complaint through the electronic Complaints Book at livroreclamacoes.pt. 14. Governing law. These terms are governed by Portuguese law.
